How To Find Us

Midhurst United Church is located at 91 Doran Road, Midhurst, Ontario.

A Brief History of Midhurst United Church

Early Midhurst settlers held services in individual homes. In 1854 a hall was erected to hold Presbyterian and Anglican services and 33 years later the present Old Sanctuary was completed. In 1925 the Midhurst congregation joined the newly formed United Church of Canada. The old Sunday school and kitchen addition of 1948 proved, over time, insufficient space as Midhurst grew and our 1992 major project was to build the westerly church extension-designed to compliment both worship and community uses. In 1999 we had our mortgage burning celebration. Between  2000 and 2006 Old Sanctuary renovations ensured its continued existence and use, honouring New Values and Old Time traditions.

Today our congregation of approximately 120 families, with over 70 children, and members ranging in age from Nursery age to over 90, enjoy the benefits of spiritual growth in a small community caring for the diversity of all. Members express their particular interest through many avenues; a growing challenging choir, links to our Native communities, sacred circles, family events, interest group meetings and always by providing an atmosphere for one to spend time in contemplation, spiritual reflection, spiritual guidance and growth.
